At class last night, I asked if we were going to go over circumcision care. To my surprise our teacher told me "no, because we do not offer them". In Australia only 10% of the population opt for circumcision, and of that 10%, 9% are Jewish and thus perform their own. During "evening tea", "other american" (we are not so good with names so we have nicknames for everyone in the class) came over and said that he had gotten ahold of a doctor who was willing to perform the procedure but that it costs $1,000 big ones and can only be done at 12 months of age.
In the US, the current circumcision rate is still very high, around 60-65%. However, in the 1980's it was around 80%, so the trend is dropping slightly....
